GlacierTracker
Oregon’s glaciers are dying—29% have already disappeared and 50% are projected to die within just 25 years. Join the effort to document these changes by using OGI’s GlacierTracker app.

The Oregon Glaciers Institute has developed a free mobile app, designed and deployed through the Esri Survey123 platform, to track glaciers using repeat photography. GlacierTracker is designed to navigate the user to repeat photography stations, set by OGI, in the Oregon Cascades. Once at a location, the user can take a repeat photograph of the glacier. The submitted photo is uploaded to an open online database that tracks glacier change. Included in the app are prior photographs of the glaciers from the same vantage point. This allows the user to see how the glaciers looked in the past while documenting its current condition in the field.
