Coalman Glacier

Coalman Glacier is located just below the summit of Mt. Hood with a south aspect. It is shaded from the Sun by a the volcanic neck called Crater Rock. Given the disappearance of Palmer, the near stagnation of Zigzag and the snow-trapping characteristic of White River, Coalman Glacier's extent likely reflects the broader climate setting of Mt. Hood's south face.
